I sent my 4yr old 17.2 Chestnut Mare to be broken and schooled as I was expecting my first child.  I compete in BSJA show jumping and have broken and schooled my own horses for many years.  This particular mare wasn’t an easy task, she planted her feet so cleaning them out was a problem and the first time I put a saddle on her back she went rodeo, big style!!! I did manage to sit on her but then found out I was expecting.  With her buck and being unpredictable it was unsafe for me to continue I couldn’t just turn her away as she needed the work, so my sister suggested I send her to Kate.  Kate was very patient with her and after a few months she was picking her feet up and was going quite sweetly on the flat all be it we still had an occasional buck.  I was very pleased with the outcome.  I would send another horse if the need ever arose again.        MP

 

 

Kate was recommended to me by one of my clients were I am a Livery yard Manager, I was very sceptical as in my job I see plenty of "professionals" coming to teach and ride my clients horses, and cant understand why people pay money to have somebody come and have a fight with their horses!! but I was picking up bad habits in my riding and I was apprehensive of starting one of my horses again after a year off due to injury ( I don’t bounce when I fall off!!) so I thought I will ring her and find out a bit more..........

 

I have now known Kate for a number of years, in that time she has helped me bring horses back into work after injury, helped me find a new horse, given me lessons, competed horses for me in show jumping and working hunter, and recently been a god send and took over selling one of my horses, which had been a heartbreaking decision, made so much easier by Kate’s constant support and help.  Before I knew Kate I hadn’t been on holiday in over six years now I have been on several holiday's whilst my horses went on full livery with Kate. It was wonderful going away knowing my horses were calm, happy, relaxed and being professionally taken care of.  I have always wanted to put one of my mares into foal but have always been put of as I wouldn’t want to back/break it myself but never been keen on the idea of sending it away and not seeing it for several weeks and having no input into its first stages of education now I have seen Kate start the youngsters and knowing she wouldn’t mind me "helping" with mine I have booked my mare to go to stud in the spring, a dream come true for me!

 

Before meeting Kate I had never in fifteen years sent my horses to a professional yard as I simply didn’t trust other people to take care for and ride my horses, as I thought no one could look after them as well as I did, and now I know different! my horses love it at Kate’s, I recommend her to everyone who asks me and now I am recommending her to you!      SW

 

After a nasty riding accident and being told by so many people to get rid of my horse, Kate came to the rescue. I made the decision that I wanted to give my horse the chance and after meeting Kate at her yard I knew I had made the right decision. I had been in touch with many other professionals, but no-one else seemed to offer that personal touch or care in the way in which Kate did.

After re-backing and schooling, I now have a fantastic boy. which so many people would have given up on. Kate not only worked with my horse but she worked with me to find my confidence again, this has probably taken more patience than working with my horse!

My horse settled in so quickly and so well at Kate’s yard that he’s now on full livery there and is definitely classed as one of her gang, he really does get the same love fuss and attention that Kate’s own horses get.

I really do have to thank Kate for all of her hard work with my horse and me and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.      H

 

Kate has been great . I had a difficult green 7 year old  coloured cob, who was nervous and inexperienced , I sent her for schooling to Kate and she was 100 per cent better. She also found her a lovely home afterwards for me, with a teenage girl. They are now show jumping together . I highly recommend Kate for difficult or problem horses or just schooling . I will be sending another one of mine to her  soon as he's a bit stroppy and big , I know that's a job for Kate..... .
